Recipe: Two-Ingredient Homemade Pasta

Our two-ingredient pasta might not save the planet, but it’s ridiculously easy to make and insanely delicious!

Materials:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, plus 2 egg yolks
  • rolling pin

Wow-To:

Step 1:  Measure out and pour 2 cups of flour onto a clean work surface.

Step 2: Make a well in the middle of the flour with your fingers. Make sure it is large enough to hold your eggs & egg yolks.

Step 3: Start beating the eggs and slowly add in some flour a little at a time as you beat the mixture. Keep beating and incorporating the flour until you end up with a messy mixture.

Step 4: It’s time to knead the dough! Be patient and keep kneading until you end up with a nice, smooth ball of dough.

Step 5: Form the dough into a 1-inch thick disk, wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for at least an hour.

Step 6: After the dough has rested, unwrap it and split it into 4 equal piece

Step 7: Roll out one portion of the dough on a lightly floured surface until the dough is as thin as you can possibly get it.

Step 8: It’s time to cut some pasta! Lightly flour the top of the dough sheet, roll it up loosely and then slice into ½ cm (0.2″) thick strips. Use your fingers to separate out the strands and place on a plate in portions.

Step 9: Repeat with the remaining dough.

Step 10: You can cook your pasta right away by placing it in a large pot of boiling salted water for 3 minutes and serve with your favorite sauce. Or store the pasta uncovered in the refrigerator until ready to cook.
