Craft: Recycled Paper
A fun way to re-use scrap paper from your recycling bin. Every single piece you make will be totally unique!
Materials:
- scrap paper (junk mail, old school papers, newspapers, magazines, etc.)
- water
- plastic tub
- kitchen blender
- spoon
- tray
Wow- To:
- Cut, shred or rip up all of your scrap paper.
- Soak the paper scraps in a tub for a few hours or over night.
- Fill a blender 1/2 way full with water. Add a generous handful of the shredded paper to the blender and blend. Keep blending until it forms a pulp.
- Spoon some of the pulp over a flat surface (like a tray) and spread it out as thinly as possible.
- Set the tray of pulp out to dry under the sun.
- The finished product will be thicker and coarser than the paper you’re used to but it can be used to write on, or to make note cards or journal covers.
