What they are is incredibly meaningful support for kids’ learning, laughter, and imagination. AND they keep Tinkercast podcasts like Wow in the World free for families and teachers!
Great question! The media industry has changed a LOT recently. Advertising and traditional funding alone can no longer support the kind of deeply researched, sound-rich, human-made, FREE shows we create. Many podcasts now depend on listener support to keep them going. It’s why so many (grown-up) podcasts use platforms like Patreon and Substack to crowdsource financial support from their listeners and readers.
